How does Imagine's digital signage pricing work?
Imagine uses a per-screen pricing model, so your software cost is based mainly on the number of screens you want to manage and the plan you choose. This makes it easy to begin with one screen and add more as your network grows.
There are three plan levels:
- Starter: a free plan for one screen
- Professional: charged per screen monthly or annually
- Enterprise: tailored to organisations that need dedicated hosting, advanced security, an admin portal, or custom integrations
Software subscriptions do not automatically include hardware (physical screens, media players), installation, connectivity, or other project services. These can be quoted separately where needed.
Which Imagine plans are available?
Imagine offers Starter, Professional, and Enterprise options for different stages and types of screen network.
- Starter is designed for a small business or someone who wants to explore the platform using one screen and basic content management.
- Professional unlocks the complete feature set for businesses managing one or more active screens.
- Enterprise is intended for larger or more specialised environments that require dedicated hosting, stronger administrative controls, two-factor authentication, or custom integrations.
You do not need to choose purely according to company size. The right plan depends on the features, security, hosting, and support your screen network requires.
What is included in the free Starter plan?
The Starter plan is completely free and gives you a practical way to begin using Imagine Digital Signage without committing to a paid subscription. It currently includes:
- Connect and manage one digital signage screen
- Playlist management
- 100 MB of media storage
- One user account
It is best suited to testing the platform or running a simple single-screen setup. If you later need additional screens, widgets, Canva, reporting, more storage, or several users, you can easily upgrade to a paid plan.
What is included in the Professional plan?
The Professional plan is designed for businesses that want to use Imagine without the limitations of the Starter package. It currently includes:
- All platform features
- Unlimited media storage
- Access to more than 20 widgets
- Canva integration
- Unlimited users and permissions
- Reports and analytics
- 24/7 support
Professional is priced per screen, which allows you to grow the network without changing how the screens are managed.
What does the Enterprise plan offer?
Enterprise is a tailored option for agencies, schools, corporate environments, and other organisations with more advanced hosting, administration, integration, or security requirements.
The Enterprise plan can include:
- Two-factor authentication
- An admin portal
- Quick tenant launch
- Secure dedicated hosting
- API access and custom integrations
Because requirements vary, Enterprise pricing is supplied on request. Contact the Imagine team with your screen count, locations, user structure, hosting needs, and planned integrations so the solution can be scoped properly.
Do you offer monthly and annual subscriptions?
Yes. The Professional plan is available as either a monthly or an annual subscription:
- Monthly: R150 per screen, per month
- Annual: R1,440 per screen, per year
Choosing the annual subscription saves R360 per screen each year, which is 20% compared with paying monthly. For example, a ten-screen network would save R3,600 per year on annual billing.
Monthly billing offers more short-term flexibility, while annual billing provides the lower overall rate.
Is there a minimum number of screens?
No. You can begin with a single screen. The free Starter plan includes one screen, while the Professional plan is charged per screen and can scale as more displays are added.
This means a small business does not need to purchase licences for screens it does not yet use, and a larger organisation can grow the same account across branches, departments, or regions.
Can I try Imagine before choosing a paid plan?
Yes. The free Starter plan allows you to register, connect one screen, upload content, build a playlist, and experience the basic workflow before moving to a paid subscription.
If you want to see the full Professional or Enterprise feature set, book a demonstration with the Imagine team. A guided demo is useful if you want to explore scheduling, widgets, reporting, Canva, user management, or a larger multi-location setup before deciding.
Are all Imagine features included in every plan?
No, the Starter plan provides the essentials for one screen, while Professional unlocks the complete standard feature set. Enterprise adds more specialised hosting, security, administration, and integration options.
You can compare the features included in each plan on our pricing page. If you have specific requirements or need something beyond what's listed, get in touch with our team. We're flexible and happy to explore solutions that work for your business.
Are widgets included in my subscription?
Our full widget library is included with the Professional and Enterprise plans, but they are not available on the free Starter plan. Professional currently includes access to over 20 widgets, covering options such as news, weather, social media, countdowns, websites, world clocks, and scrolling tickers.
Some future services supplied by premium third-party partners may carry their own charges or licensing conditions. Where that applies, the additional cost should be shown before you add the service.
Are software updates included?
Yes, ongoing updates are included with your Imagine access, so you can benefit from new features, performance improvements, and security enhancements as the platform develops. You do not need to purchase a new software version whenever Imagine is updated.
Updates to third-party hardware, operating systems, internet services, or external integrations may follow their own terms and support arrangements.
Is support included?
Yes, our Professional and Enterprise plans includes 24/7 support, and the Imagine team can assist through telephone, WhatsApp, email, or video call. You will speak to a real person who understands digital signage rather than being left to work through an automated chatbot.
Software support should be separated from services that may require a separate quotation, such as:
- On-site installation or technician visits
- Third-party hardware repairs and warranties
- Local network or internet work
- Custom development and integrations
- Specialist content or design services
For on-site technical assistance, Imagine may refer you to an appropriate reseller or network integrator.
Are there any hidden software costs?
No, Imagine’s published pricing is intended to make the software cost clear, without any hidden costs or add-ons. The Professional fee covers the standard feature set, rather than charging separately for ordinary tools such as Canva integration, reporting, users, or the current widget library.
Your wider project may still involve separate costs for hardware, mounting equipment, installation, connectivity, content production, on-site support, or custom integration work. Premium third-party widgets may also carry a separate charge in future. These are project or partner costs rather than hidden platform fees, and they should be identified before you approve a quotation.
Are screens, hardware, and installation included in the software price?
No. The published subscription price covers the Imagine softwareonly. Hardware and project services are separate because each installation has different requirements.
Additional quoting and costs may include:
- Commercial displays or televisions
- Android media players
- LG webOS displays
- LED displays and controllers
- Touchscreens, stands, or wall mounts
- Delivery, installation, and configuration
- Site surveys, connectivity, and on-site support
You can use compatible hardware you already own or request a quotation for a complete solution. Installation can also be handled by your own team, Imagine, or an approved integration partner, depending on the project.
Can I add or remove screens later?
Yes. You can expand or reduce your screen network whenever your requirements change.
To connect a new display, select Add Screen from the Screens page and follow the setup process. To remove an existing display, open its Screen Overview and select Delete at the bottom of the panel.
If a screen remains listed but needs to be connected again, open its Screen Overview and select Reconnect. This is useful when replacing a media player or reconnecting a device without creating an entirely new screen record.
Can I cancel my subscription at any time?
Yes. You can cancel your Imagine subscription directly from your dashboard whenever you like. There are no contracts or notice periods, and your screens will continue displaying content until the end of your paid billing period.
Your media library remains intact as long as your account stays open, so if you decide to return, you can simply resubscribe and pick up where you left off.
Can Imagine assist with a national or multi-location network?
Yes. We have successfully deployed digital signage networks across South Africa and internationally, from smaller multi-site projects to roll-outs involving several hundred screens.
Our experienced project team can help coordinate the planning, logistics, hardware, installation, and commissioning required for a smooth rollout. To prepare an accurate quotation, we will need information such as:
- The number of locations and screens
- Screen sizes, orientations, and operating hours
- Existing hardware you would like to reuse
- New hardware and installation requirements
- Connectivity at each site
- The number and type of users
- Reporting, security, hosting, or integration requirements
- Training, content, and ongoing support needs
Your quotation will clearly separate ongoing software costs from once-off expenses such as hardware, installation, project management, travel, and optional services.
Can I move a licence to a replacement screen?
Yes. A licence is not permanently tied to a particular screen. You can remove it from one screen and assign it to another whenever you replace hardware, move a display, or reorganise your network.
Bear in mind that only the screen with the active licence will display your published content. Once the licence is removed, the previous screen will show an "Unlicensed" message until another licence is assigned.
Which payment methods do you accept?
Imagine accepts payment by debit or credit card, Google Pay, Apple Pay, and direct bank transfer.
Does the displayed price include VAT?
No. Imagine’s displayed prices exclude VAT. The applicable VAT amount will be added to your total during billing and shown on your invoice.
Is professional digital signage software worth the cost?
For a business that depends on its screens, the value lies in more than putting an image on a display. Professional software gives you one place to update content, schedule campaigns, monitor screen health, manage users, and verify playback across the network.
It can also reduce recurring printing and distribution, shorten the time needed to update promotions or information, and help prevent outdated messaging from remaining on display. The return will differ between organisations, so compare the subscription cost with the time, travel, printing, missed sales opportunities, and operational risk the platform can reduce.
