Three ways onto a panel, and the two steps they all share

Commercial displays take the IPK from a USB stick or through SuperSign Manager. A TV on the bench takes it over ares-cli. Whichever route you use, the panel is paired from your dashboard in under a minute.

  1. USB sideload - LG Signage

    Format a stick as FAT32, create the folder LG/installation/ and drop the IPK inside it. On the display go to Home → Settings → General → Installer, insert the stick and press OK.

  2. SuperSign / SI Server push

    The route for a fleet. Upload the IPK as a new application in SuperSign Manager and assign it to the target group - the displays install it over the management channel, with nobody in front of them.

  3. LG TV in developer mode

    For a consumer panel on the bench:
    npm i -g @webosose/ares-cli
    ares-setup-device
    ares-install --device tv im.ipk
    ares-launch --device tv com.imagesignage.player

  4. Pair the screen

    Launch the app. It shows a pairing ID and code. In your dashboard open Screens → Add screen, enter them (or scan the QR code), and the panel appears in the list ready for a playlist.

  5. Set it to come back by itself

    A signage panel should return to the player after a power cut. Set the app as the boot application in the display's own settings; the player then resumes on power-on and after the panel wakes, and carries on playing from its own storage if the network is down.
